New opportunities

Since 2017, SKAGEN has been part of the Storebrand Group, a leading player in the Nordic market for long-term savings and pensions. While SKAGEN remains an independent fund manager, our clients will have access to a broader product spectrum and financial services offering.

These are some of the opportunities our clients will benefit from.

A common systems platform

SKAGEN is establishing a common operational platform with Storebrand Asset Management (SAM). A broader digital environment and more extensive competence will enable us to develop superior client solutions.

The joint platform will comprise IT operations, the development and support of investment solutions, client settlement, unit holder registration, fund accounting, fund pricing and securities settlement. It will be up and running by 1 July 2018.

Fixed income funds

Storebrand Asset Management (SAM) will be responsible for the portfolio management of SKAGEN’s internationally marketed fixed income funds, SKAGEN Tellus and SKAGEN Avkastning, with effect from 1 September 2018.

SAM offers an exceptional environment for macroeconomic analysis and fixed income management and is one of the leading fixed income managers in Scandinavia.

For unit holders, it will be business as usual. The funds will remain as standalone funds under the SKAGEN brand and clients will continue to receive newsletters, monthly reports and invitations to relevant events from us.
