SKAGEN Focus wins Lipper Fund Awards

SKAGEN has won prestigious Lipper Fund Awards for outstanding fund performance. SKAGEN Focus, which invests predominantly in smaller companies, has been awarded best global equity small and mid-cap fund over three years in both the UK and the Netherlands. The fund has been managed by Jonas Edholm and David Harris since its launch in 2015.

The Lipper Fund Awards recognise funds and fund management firms for their consistently strong risk-adjusted three, five, and ten-year returns relative to peers. Based on Lipper's quantitative methodology, the awards have provided an independent assessment of fund performance for over three decades.

At the end of April, SKAGEN Focus had delivered impressive three-year annualised EUR returns of 20.7%, 9.0% percentage points ahead of the MSCI All Country World Index, net of fees. The fund is rated five stars by Morningstar over three-years and ranked among the best performing 6% of peers in their Global Flex-Cap Equity category over the same period[1].

Jonas Edholm, Lead Portfolio Manager, SKAGEN Focus, commented:

“The three years since COVID triggered the 'big reset' for global stock markets have seen SKAGEN Focus perform strongly as the investment environment has normalised and value has returned to favour. We are confident our drive for taking contrarian positions in lucrative small and mid-cap global companies is the right strategy to continue delivering superior returns for clients going forward."

Robert Jenkins, Head of Research, Lipper, Refinitiv, added:

“The 2023 Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards recognize those award winning managers who navigated their shareholders through the impacts of a global pandemic and then the perfect storm of economic shocks leading to generational inflation pressure and global central bank interventions."

The Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards, granted annually, highlight funds and fund companies that have excelled in delivering consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers. The Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards are based on the Lipper Leader for Consistent Return rating, which is an objective, quantitative, risk-adjusted performance measure calculated over 36, 60 and 120 months. The fund with the highest Lipper Leader for Consistent Return (Effective Return) value in each eligible classification wins the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Award. Although Refinitiv Lipper makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data used to calculate the awards, their accuracy is not guaranteed.
